Video Evidence: It IS a Forensic Discipline!

Our society is overwhelmed with closed circuit video cameras.  These cameras produce video evidence utilized in nearly every major police investigation.  Police Investigators are tasked with collecting, preserving and processing all of this digital multimedia evidence.  But are police investigators doing this work properly?  Are they following established best practices?  What are the potential consequences of not following those best practices?
This 45 minutes presentation by the Law Enforcement & Emergency Services Video Association, International will address these questions and the possible, real-world consequences of not following best practices.  The importance of training and earned certification of personnel who handle video evidence will be emphasized.
